Joyful Watercolor I: Testing the Waters
Discover the joy of painting with watercolors-in spite of what you may have heard this is a super fun and easy to work with medium. No art experience required. All supplies will be provided. In this class you'll be introduced to the unique qualities of watercolor paint, types of paper, and brushes. This is hands-on learning. Try for yourself and see if you can tell which is the student grade paint and which is the professional grade. Discover the various temperments of pigments. Learn a variety of brushstrokes and ways to handle the paint. See what kind of paper you like and how the paint reacts to it. Learn how to mix colors and create your own color wheel. After this class you'll know what you prefer when you go to buy your own supplies. Come join us for a wonderful art experience!
Joyful Watercolor II: Luscious Layers
In this hands-on workshop you'll build a painting with luscious layers. Using a photo for reference you’ll learn how to look at an image through artist’s eyes and how to interpret it in your painting. Starting with some warm up sketches to determine areas of interest and how you want to compose your painting. Starting with light washes and adding subsequent layers of paint creates richly beautiful colors and depth. Next we’ll add visual interest with details and textures. Discover how fun and beautiful painting with watercolors can be!

Mixed Media Art I
Come try a variety of fun mediums-see how they work together and ways to layer and add color and magic to your art. A very fun, flexible approach where anything goes and the goal is to keep it loose and playful. We will have fun working with collage, acrylic paint, pencil, pen and ink, and oil pastels in your creations. I'll show you how to layout out your palette, mix colors, and create shading. We look at different ways to start a painting and how to get over the fear of the blank white page. This is a beginning level class-no art experience is required. All supplies provided for first class. Come play and have fun!
Mixed Media Art II
More mixed media mayhem! Gather together your photos and discover new ways to use them in your art. In this class you will learn how to alter, transfer and incorporate photos into your work. You’ll get to try out some delightful acrylic mediums and learn how to mix it all together. Get ready for another fun and full of ideas workshop! You’ll go home with inspiration and new tricks to add to your work.

Canning The Critic-Release fear around making art
Do you want to make art but feel badgered by your inner critic or by past memories? This is for all levels of artists-if you not have held a paintbrush since gradeschool-you are in the right place. If you are an active artist but want to be freed from your inner critic-you are in the right place. In this super supportive workshop we will talk about how to befriend your creative self and will do exercises to release your fears around making art. We will also do some fun and light-hearted techniques to celebrate your creative process and how to nurture your unique creative voice. Please join us for a fun day and go home feeling easier about art & yourself as an artist.

Mixed Media- High Tea Party
A fun day of creating around a tea party theme! This will not be your normal art class. You are encouraged to come dressed for tea (any interpretations are welcome), and bring your favorite art supplies. We’ll begin with demos around several fun ways to layer and design tea imagery into your painting or journal. There will be some unusual and fun art supplies for you to try, and everyone will receive their own sweet packet of tea-inspired paper ephemera. At high noon we shall break for tea! Real china, tea & light finger foods will be served. In the afternoon we will have more demos and art making. A fun day spent creating and playing around the soothing ritual of tea!

Beginning Jewelry
Do you have beads tucked away, bought with the best of intentions to create a pretty piece of jewelry? Well pull out those lovlies and bring them to life! Learn how to design and finish a single or multiple strand necklace or bracelet. I’ll teach you my tricks for creating colorful and fun jewelry that sparkles. Discover how to make a wire-wrap loop, pendant and spiral drop. We’ll also make a matching pair of earrings. There are endless possibilies to what you can do. Come learn how fun it is to make your own jewelry!
