I want you to know how much fun I had in your class! I was able to let go and just have a good time. You really helped me to overcome some of my fears of playing with art. Thank you for a fun experience with art, and a great few hours that went by way to fast!!!

In-Person Workshop
Make an Altered Book Journal
Saturday, October 25th, 10am-3pm
No experience needed! • In-person in Langley, WA

Convert a book into a journal! I'll begin by sharing what I look for when I choose a book to make into an art journal and will have my altered books available for you to look at. This is designed to be a really fun class where play and experimentation is encouraged. We'll begin by prepping the book and strengthening the pages. Next we'll use acrylic paint to decorate our covers and pages. We'll build rich layers by adding in different kinds of collage materials. I'll share my favorite technique for making image transfers. Discover how to add interest to your pages with cutting, folding, adding pages, windows, flaps and pockets. Go home inspired with fun techniques to continue your mixed media journey!
Lunch will be 12-1, you are welcome to go out or bring your lunch and keep working during that time. Location in Langley, WA will be emailed upon registration. Parking is free & easy.
Bring a hard back book to alter, all other supplies provided- price includes supply fee - $85

I just wanted to send you a little note thanking you for the wonderful classes last week. I really enjoyed everything. I had no experience with watercolors and now I feel confident in using them. Plus, I really loved all of the techniques you showed us - very cool stuff!
~Susan
I was so inspired yesterday that I came home and finished my journal cover! Now on to some pages... Thank you again for providing a safe place for your students to explore their creativity!

Student Comments
"I *soooooooo* enjoyed your class. It opened up a whole new world for me, and I'm so excited to learn more. You are a wonderful teacher, and I thoroughly enjoyed your class. I honestly had no idea that watercolor could do the things that you taught us. Thanks again for everything."
~Deb

"First I have to say thank you a million times over. I had the best time I have had in a long time. I cannot tell you how it felt to do something creative. Since that class everything I look at is different. I see things I did not see before. Thanks so much for opening a new world."
~Rob

"I really enjoyed the collage class I took with you. Just a lot of fun, information and getting over the feeling I am not artistic. I'm trying to find some way to be creative. You made it very relaxed and enjoyable."
~Julie

"Thank you so much for a fun class. My favorite thing was being given permission to be open to exploration without judgment or restraint. It helped me to relax and not feel like I have to love or show every piece; it helped me make peace with process."
~Deirdre
