Saturday, February 7th, 10am-3pm
In-person in Langley, WA
Bring a book to use as your cover. All other supplies provided- price includes supply fee - $90
Let your curiosity be your compass as you create a richly layered art journal filled with personal meaning and texture. In this imaginative, hands-on class, we’ll begin with an old book—using its cover as the foundation for your own pages made of paper, fabric, and found materials. You’ll learn how to build and bind pages, embellish your cover, and add depth with collage, paint, stitching, wire, beads, ribbon, and decorative tin.
Bring along your own small treasures—charms, trinkets, photos, or bits of fabric—to tell your story through your journal’s pages. Each layer becomes a memory, each attachment a memento of your creative journey. Whether your journal feels like a travelogue, a keepsake, or a storybook from your imagination, you’ll leave with a beautifully tactile, one-of-a-kind piece that captures the beauty in the unexpected.
Lunch will be 12-1, you are welcome to go out or bring your lunch and keep working during that time. Location address will be emailed upon registration.
Feedback from students:
"I can't tell you how much I enjoyed the class yesterday and how much I got out of it. I learned SO MUCH, and came home with my brain excited and full of ideas. It was truly a pleasure, from beginning (nervous sweaty first day of school palms and all) to the end, which came way too quickly. "

"I *soooooooo* enjoyed your class. It opened up a whole new world for me, and I'm so excited to learn more. You are a wonderful teacher, and I thoroughly enjoyed your class. I honestly had no idea that watercolor could do the things that you taught us. Thanks again for everything."

"Thank you so much for a fun class and for opening the door to easing up inside around the process of creating art. My favorite thing was being given permission to be open to exploration without judgment or restraint. It helped me to relax around it and not feel like I have to love or show every piece; it helped me make more peace with process."
