ONLINE Live & Recorded class: Wednesdays, October 22nd-November 12th, 10am to 12pm. 6 month class access. No experience needed! This class will be presented LIVE online through a private Zoom link. All videos & discussions will be available in your membership class page, within 24 hours following the LIVE class. Looking for a fun way to explore watercolor? Discover the joy of painting using the rich colors of autumn. This class is perfect for the beginner, rusty watercolorist or painter who wants to paint more loosely. Using the beautiful colors of autumn, we'll begin with easy exercises for painting autumn leaves. As the class progresses we will be painting seed heads, gourds and gorgeous fall landscapes. You'll learn how to render your subjects with specific techniques including wet into wet, dry brush, glazes and lifting. Next we will add texture in three different ways to enhance the painting. I'll teach you how to make your subjects look even more real with veins, highlights, and shading. We will begin with easy exercises and build up in complexity, encouraging your own style. While I encourage you to collect your own leaves & gourds to paint from, I will supply lots of photo references of leaves, seed heads, gourds and autumn landscapes. I know not everyone lives where there are autumn leaves or has the opportunity to go out collecting. Syllabus: Week 1) Leaves- wet into wet, dry brush, textures, lifting Week 2) Leaves + branches + shadows , glazes, backgrounds, merging several elements together in one painting Week 3) Painting gourds, backgrounds, depth, perspective, creating a sense of volume Week 4) Painting autumn landscapes Feedback from my students: "I just wanted to send you a little note thanking you for the wonderful classes last week.
